Original oil painting on wood board, signed on the lower left corner.
Signature on the reverse side.
The painting is assembled on artisanal frame.
This artwork is one of a group of 14 paintings, all of them by the same author, Olimpia de Grenaille.
A series of still lives, oil paintings on canvas, cardboard, wood board.
Very refined and emotional paintings, where colour commands, takes possession of the space, becomes shape and essence.
We know very few about the painter: she was called Olimpia de Grenaille, she was French and she lived in Provence. She lived in first half of 1900. She was a very elegand and cultured woman, she was in love with Tuscany, where she ofter came, in the years between two world wars. She usually visited Versilia, Lucca, Florence.
This is what an old lady from Florence told us. Her mother had a tender and deep friendship with Olimpia de Grenaille. Thanks to her, we found out these wonderful artworks.
