Between colour and substance, between figurative and informal, between tale and reality: Michele Lovi combines in his poetry elements, only apparently incompatibles.
Michele Lovi is born in Lucca in 1949. He has studied in Lucca and Florence, he paints and exposes his art since 1968.
His pictorical career is strictly linked to his land, Lucca, its countryside and everything that grows on its terrain. Lovi puts leaves, barks, soil in the middle of his art. And temperas, oils, pastels share with these natural elements the creation of a wonderful “commedia dell’arte” that takes place in a Lovi’s painting.
The pictorial result is dreamlike, sometimes symbolic. Metaphysical and genuine.
Michele Lovi displays it this exhibition his last artistic production. Harmonious artworks, with a unique history in every detail, meticolously studied by the artis and endowed with a role and a personality.
